Jacqueline Fairbrass, Founder of The School of Complementary Therapies, as President of the Anxiety Disorders Association of Ontario chairs the Annual General Meeting at Heartwood House on Wednesday November 12th at 6:30 p.m. Jacqueline is a reputed expert in the field of anxiety and CAM. Her role on the 12th includes the presentation "Ready, Steady, Breathe" outlining the basics of maintaining a healthy, balanced lifestyle, ie the holistic approach to life, and how being aware physically, mentally and emotionally of ourselves can alleviate anxiety. This brief exploration includes the increased awareness of anxiety in our culture and how prevention can be part of our daily lives. The presentation concludes with an interactive awareness exercise.

She operates a clinical practice in Ottawa, Canada, where she is engaged as a life facilitator. In this capacity, Fairbrass* enables her clients to move past limiting beliefs and physical restrictions to fully embrace the possibilities of life. She has more than twenty-six years of experience teaching, facilitating seminars and running a successful practice. She also has a long standing record of practicing and promoting Complementary and Alternative Medicine, which is the term applied to health care that does not fall under the western medical model. Fairbrass* is also the founder of the School of Complementary Therapies and holds a doctorate in natural health with Honors, from the United Kingdom. She was a contributing author for the Clinician's Complete Reference to Complementary & Alternative Medicine, has conducted numerous studies on a multitude of topics such as depression, nutrition, meditation, healing and acupuncture, is a member of the Reflexology Association of Canada, the Ontario College of Reflexology, treasurer of the Anxiety Disorders Association of Ontario and a board member of the Ontario Herbal Association. Her teaching experience spans two decades and encompasses subjects as diverse as business writing and administrative theory. In addition to her inspiring professional and academic achievements, Jacqueline Fairbrass* maintains an impressive personal agenda that consists of community service, altruistic undertakings and leisure activities. In her spare time, she enjoys travel, learning and is a connoisseur of tea.
